Terms and Conditions

By entering the Sasol “One Young World” competition, all participants and winners agree to be bound by these rules which will be interpreted by the organisers, and their decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding. No written correspondence shall be entered into.

How to enter

  1. To stand a chance of winning the prize, you need to enter the competition via the campaign website, which will in turn hyperlink you to the application page on the One Young World website.

  2. Unclear and illegible entries or entries containing errors or unsuitable content will be declared invalid.
  3. Sasol will consider applicants that meet the minimum criteria set out by One Young World and who are from South Africa, Mozambique, Qatar, Nigeria, America, the UK and Germany whose community impact is specifically linked to the area of Sustainable Development, Health, Education, Community Leadership, Innovation and Youth Unemployment.


  1. Every entry must be submitted via the One Young World website; finalists will be selected from the valid application forms and will then be reviewed by the One Young World support team to ensure applicants meet the highlighted requirements. A short list of applicants will then be put forward to the Sasol One Young World selection committee, where each applicant will be screened and the 20 successful delegates will be chosen and communicated to. The 10 successful delegates will be sponsored by Sasol to attend the 2014 One Young World Summit in Dublin, Ireland from 15 to 19 October 2014.
  2. Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection all prize winners accept the prize at his/her own risk.
  3. The organisers are not liable for any technical failure that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted. Any prize is accepted by a winner at his/her own risk and the organisers are not liable, at any time, for any defect in the prize.
  4. The organisers also reserve the right to send the winners home before the end of the tour, should the organisers find their conduct to be inappropriate.
  5. The organisers reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of similar value.
  6. If flights are required they can only be booked once the winners have been announced. These dates may be subject to change for good cause and winners will be adequately notified of such change.
  7. All international winners (outside of South Africa) must be in possession of a valid passport. All winners with temporary passports will be disqualified.


  1. Organisers will interpret the rules in their sole discretion and reserve the right to amend the rules at any time. No entry is valid until a validation process determined by the organisers has taken place.
  2. The organisers reserve the right to require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the organisers to ensure compliance with these rules. Should any of the winners be found not compliant with these rules, he/she shall be automatically disqualified.
  3. If the Organisers are unable to reach any of the winners for whatever reason following all reasonable attempts to do so, such winners will be disqualified and the organisers reserve the right to draw another winner in substitution.
  4. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the organisers will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. By entering the competition and/or accepting any prize, the participants and winners hereby indemnify, release and hold harmless the organisers (including any of their subsidiaries, holding and subsidiary companies and affiliates, their directors, employees, agents, suppliers and contractors) from and against any actions, claims and/or liability for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from participation in the competition, and/or the use, acceptance or possession of a prize, and/or participation (or non-participation) in a prize-related activity.
  5. The organisers may require the winners (at no fee to the winners) to be identified, photographed, filmed and these to be published in any media, subject to the winner’s right to decline participating in any such marketing activities.
  6. The organisers may collect, store and use (but not share without permission) any personal information of entrants for communication or statistical purposes.
  7. The Organisers reserve the right to terminate the Competition with immediate effect, without notice. In such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against the organisers and/or any of the parties identified in 4. above and acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature against such parties.
  8. The duration of the promotion may also be extended or curtailed at the sole discretion of the organisers.
  9. The organiser may in their sole discretion amend these terms and conditions at any time, without notice, and such amendment(s) shall be deemed to have taken effect from the date of publication of the revised terms and conditions on the www.sasolwithyou.com website
  10. Entry implies acceptance of all the above rules.
